Sytrus ReDux

The Final Product Of The Sytrus Synth Machine. I put in a few extra sounds to give the creepy dark techno loop, a bit more of a drone mysterious feel. Only a few of the lines came from the Riff Machine, but the other I had to make myself because I wasnt getting the lines I needed for the specific sytrus synth.

  1. I liked your blog posts, and I really like your synth sounds. You achieved a great bell-like sound. What's missing is a bit more structure to the piece. There were so many parts that I had trouble following the form. I heard scratch, broken glass, arpeggiated vibes, tinkle bells and a lot of random sounds. Some of the sounds didn't belong together.
The electric guitar seems to be stuck on a note and rings through the whole second half of your piece. I found that to be very distracting.

  2. Jared, your amazing. Im with Mr. Rabuse on that there seems to be no form. It all fits together nicely, but its all going on some crazy road trip. I like the synth sounds and I Love the drum loop and the scratching bits. I think you could have done better than throwing in a glass bottle though. You could hvae just done a whole slowdown effect wiht the pitch on the whole thing and then brought it back without the scratching. I like the sound of glass breaking, but not in music. I Love that its not like, 22 seconds!!! (ive had soda, okay? youve seen how I handle sugar) Good job! :)
