This is the vocoder project using the vocal line of a “sinister preacher” reading revelations, which gave me the idea to make a more metal feel to the song. I made music around the repeating line and used electric guitars and basses for the melody of the background music. I also added a few more vocal parts like that of the crows in the end and I made lines of what sounds like hellish groans in the back as well. I used primarily scratch noises and snare brush noises for this.

I particularly liked the background music, Jared. Very nice choice of vocals. I liked the random bits of bass and growls/groans. I think the vocals were well done, but I would have cut out peices of it and put it all together in like verses, starting or ending with the full peice (or both).
ReplyDeleteI really like this. It is a little long, but It reminds me of the video game music by Nine Inch Nails for Quake III.
ReplyDeleteThe fading in and fading out of the long sustained synth sounds is very well done, and serves to create a creepy sounding background to showcase your vocals.
I suggest using a wider variety of more creepy preacher quotes.
